Former World Boxing Association or the WBA Heavyweight Championship titlist David Haye has revealed his desires to take on Vitali Klitschko once again and fight for the World Boxing Council or the WBC Heavyweight Championship. The English boxing legend was scheduled to take on Manuel Charr at the end of June but a freak hand injury in training forced him to call off the match and now, he has trained his eyes on the older of the two Klitschko brothers as he tries for the umpteenth time to convince him to a fight.

Speaking of the hand injury that forced him to withdraw from the match against Charr, the 32 year stated that this is nothing but a momentary setback and added that he still believes he is well on course to land that prized fight against Vitali Klitschko. The Englishman lost his WBA Heavyweight Championship to Wladimir Klitschko and retired from professional boxing but came back within a year to defeat Dereck Chisora in a grudge match last year, and he hasn’t stepped inside the ring since then.

Moreover, so confident is Haye about landing a fight against Vitali that he has promised his fans to do his best to be injury free once the deal for the fight is agreed between the two parties. Speaking to a local media channel, he stated that he hopes the fight against the big Ukrainian goes ahead and added that his goal is to reclaim the world championship.

Haye mentioned that Vitali Klitschko has one mandatory challenge in front of him but he doesn’t see that fight happening before 2014, which means he will have to wait for a long time. However, he is open to that and plans to be active and injury free till the fight he wants is sanctioned.

Whatever hopes British boxer David Haye might have had about a fight against the WBC Heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko are appearing extremely remote at the moment following the comments made by the manager of the Ukrainian. According to the manager of the older of the Klitschko brothers, the Heavyweight fight between one of the greatest champions and one of Britain’s greatest boxers might never take place. Haye reiterated his desire to fight against the elder Klitschko brother after defeating countryman Derek Chisora in five rounds of bloodied boxing at the Upton Park grounds of West Ham United FC in London.

But according to the reports that have emerged from Ukraine, Vitali Klitschko is most likely to enter politics and retire from professional boxing after fighting against Manuel Charr on the 8th of September in Moscow. And according to the manager of Klitschko, they offered David Haye the option of fighting against Vitali in September but he decided to fight Derek Chisora because that was an easier fight for him. He also claimed that Haye perhaps passed up the opportunity of fighting Vitali in favor of Chisora because there was more money there for him and an easier opponent as well.

The manager also claimed that the contract for the fight against Haye was drawn up, an arena was booked but Haye decided to ignore all that and turned down the fight against Vitali for the second time in his career. He stated that Vitali plans to campaign for the parliamentary elections after his fight against Charr and being the leader of the opposition party UDAR, he has his responsibilities to his party as well.

The manager of Vitali Klitschko went on to suggest that if he wins the parliamentary elections, the chances of him returning to boxing are very slim.

Vitali Klitschko the WBC heavyweight champion is ready to face two British fighters before deciding on whether to retire or not. He is up against Derek Chisora and David Haye. The forty year old champion is to face Chisora on the eighteenth of February in Munich. And his match with the latter is scheduled for June.

David Haye retired in October on his thirty first birthday but Haye said that he will face Vitali Klitschko for the match. David Haye is yet to sign the contract though.

Vitali Klitschko will be forty one on the nineteenth of July, 2012. Vitali Klitschko says that he will make his decision regarding his retirement after he faces his two British challenges. Then again Vitali Klitschko did hint at retirement when he said that he had no interest in being the world heavy weight champion at his age as he said that he did not want to be in particular known as the oldest heavyweight title holder.

He said that his fans were the ones who were to decide on whether he still had his form. He said that he was not out there to break George foreman’s record of boxing even when he hit the age of forty five.

Vitali Klitschko’s younger brother Wladmir had beaten David Haye last July on points to get the world heavyweight title. Vitali Klitschko said that he will beat the British man and that he says will be by knocking David Haye out.

Chisora who is twenty seven had lost on the third of December to Robert Helenius of Finland.  The contest was held for the European Title. The Londoner had however fought his heart out in what was an impressive display of power and stamina.

According to Vitali, Chisora was the winner of the European Championship. Vitali Klitschko says that he is eagerly looking forward to his match with Chisora.
